Located nearby in the village of Yenihisar. just 2 miles from Altinkum you will find Didyma. This is a sacred site where in the centre, was a great temple built in the name of the sun god Apollo.
The Ionians built the temple in Didyma around 550 B.C, and they constructed it with such care that it was one of the most magnificent temples of the time.
